Short Description:

A Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for an organization, including tracking transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. They ensure all financial data is recorded correctly and assist in preparing financial reports and statements. By handling day-to-day accounting tasks, a Full Charge Bookkeeper supports the overall financial health and stability of the organization. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals, ledgers, or computers.
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases using specialized accounting software.
  • Operate 10-key calculators and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
  • Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables about such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
  • Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Economics and Accounting: Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Law and Government: Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
