Short Description:
A Millwright or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is a skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. They play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing plants, power stations, and other industrial facilities. Millwrights use their expertise in mechanical systems, welding, and precision machinery to perform tasks that contribute to the reliability and functionality of industrial equipment. Holds 433A Certification.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Install, assemble, and disassemble machinery and equipment according to blueprints and technical specifications.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal functionality.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues in industrial machinery.
Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
Align and calibrate machinery to meet operational requirements.
Weld and fabricate machine components as needed.
Collaborate with other maintenance and production teams to address equipment-related challenges.
Follow safety protocols and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Stay updated with advancements in industrial technology and machinery.
Skills / Requirements / Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in millwright or industrial maintenance is often required.
Experience: Proven experience as a Millwright or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
Mechanical Systems: Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Physical: Physical fitness and dexterity to handle heavy machinery and equipment.
Teamwork: Teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with other maintenance and production staff.
Safety Regulations: Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in an industrial setting.
