Short Description:

An Automation Technician specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated systems and equipment used in manufacturing and industrial processes. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of automated machinery, including robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other computer-controlled systems.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain automated systems, including robotics and PLCs.
Collaborate with engineers to design and implement automation solutions.
Program and configure automation systems to meet specific project requirements.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automated equipment.
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in automated systems to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with other technicians and departments to address cross-functional issues.
Monitor and optimize the performance of automated processes.
Document maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures, and system changes.
Train operators and maintenance personnel on the use and maintenance of automated systems.
Stay informed about advancements in automation technology and recommend upgrades

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

Education: Associate degree or certification in automation, mechatronics, or a related field.
Automated Systems: Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of automated systems.
PLC Programming: Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Robotic Systems: Familiarity with robotic systems and industrial control systems.
Electrical Systems: Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Analytical: Analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving issues.
Technical Schematics: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Communication: Good communication and teamwork skills.
Safety Awareness: Safety-conscious approach to working with automated equipment.
