A Construction Engineering Manager is a professional who oversees groups of construction engineers and workers, while also working with architects designing buildings and infrastructure. They assist sub-contractors in understanding the designated work to facilitate completion and play a pivotal role in ensuring that construction activities align with project specifications, safety standards, and budget constraints.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate engineering teams throughout the construction project lifecycle.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and engineering aspects of construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to address project requirements.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any issues.
  • Manage project budgets and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and resolve design or construction challenges.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, plans, and specifications.
  • Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in construction engineering and project management.
  • Construction Methods: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Leadership: Leadership abilities to manage and motivate engineering teams.
  • Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • PM Software: Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Problem-solving skills to address technical and logistical challenges.
  • Collaborative: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse project stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Professional engineering licensure is often required.
