A Maintenance Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance operations of a facility or organization. They play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. Maintenance Managers lead teams, develop maintenance strategies, and collaborate with other departments to achieve operational excellence.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Oversee the planning and scheduling of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Manage and lead a team of maintenance technicians and staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize maintenance processes without disrupting operations.
  • Monitor equipment performance and analyze maintenance data for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs and expenses.
  • Implement and optimize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Lead the development and implementation of asset management strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex maintenance issues.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, maintenance management, or a related field; master's degree is often preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Maintenance Procedures: In-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, technologies, and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving skills for optimizing maintenance processes.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Regulatory Requirements: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards in maintenance.
  • Budgeting: Budgeting and financial management skills for overseeing maintenance budgets.
  • CMMS: Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Continuous Learning: Continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies and advancements in maintenance management.
