Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create tool and die designs.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate tool and die components.
  • Assemble, fit, and finish tool and die parts to ensure proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize tool and die designs for manufacturability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing molds, dies, or fixtures to maintain production efficiency.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure the accuracy and quality of finished tools.
  • Program and operate computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
  • Monitor and maintain tooling inventory, ensuring availability for production needs.
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations in tool and die making processes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies in tool and die making.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in tool and die making is often required.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Mouldmaker/Tool and Die Maker.
  • Bluleprints: Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Machining Processes: Knowledge of machine tools, machining processes, and materials used in tool and die making.
  • Quality Control: Ability to use precision measuring instruments for quality control.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and optimizing tool and die designs.
  • CAD/CAM Software: Computer proficiency, including CAD and CAM software.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and accuracy in tool and die fabrication.
  • Communication: Communication skills for collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Continuous Learning: Continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies in tool and die making.
