Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Program and set up welding control systems and automation equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with welding automation systems, addressing malfunctions promptly.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure welding equipment meets project specifications.
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules for welding control systems.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify the performance and accuracy of welding automation.
  • Analyze data from welding processes to identify trends, defects, or areas for improvement.
  • Develop and update documentation for welding automation procedures and parameters.
  • Collaborate with vendors to source and integrate new welding control technologies.
  • Provide training and support to welding operators and maintenance staff.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree or certification in welding technology, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Welding Control Systems: Proficiency in programming languages relevant to welding control systems.
  • Welding Techniques: Knowledge of various welding processes and techniques, as well as welding automation technologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving automation issues.
  • Robotic Welding Systems: Familiarity with robotic welding systems and their programming.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail to ensure precise and consistent welding quality.
  • Communication: Communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and providing training.
  • Efficient: Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience: Experience in welding automation, control systems, or a related role is often required.
