Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor rolling mill machinery to shape and process metal materials according to specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings, such as speed, pressure, and temperature, to ensure optimal production quality.
  • Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on rolling mill equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine processing requirements.
  • Monitor and record production data, including measurements, output, and equipment performance.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent workplace hazards and ensure a secure working environment.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to address defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products using forklifts, cranes, or other material-handling equipment.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members to coordinate production activities and meet deadlines.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in manufacturing or metallurgy preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience operating rolling mills or working in metal fabrication preferred.
  • Mechanical Skills: Strong understanding of machinery operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to inspect materials and products for defects and ensure precise measurements.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in high-temperature environments.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, including PPE use and hazard prevention.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and production orders accurately.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and adaptability to resolve machinery and production issues efficiently.
