A Packaging Technician is a professional responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment in manufacturing or production settings. They play a vital role in ensuring that products are correctly packaged, labeled, and ready for distribution. Packaging Technicians contribute to the efficiency of the production process by monitoring equipment, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining quality standards.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Operate packaging machinery to assemble, fill, seal, and label products.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to ensure proper packaging.
  • Perform routine maintenance on packaging equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and address issues related to packaging processes.
  • Inspect packaged products for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Collaborate with production teams to coordinate packaging schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of packaging activities, including quantity and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of packaging procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize packaging equipment to meet hygiene standards.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is often beneficial.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Packaging Technician or in a similar role.
  • Packaging Equipment: Knowledge of packaging equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail for ensuring accurate and quality packaging.
  • Physical: Physical fitness and dexterity to handle packaging machinery.
  • Troubleshooting: Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Communication: Communication skills for coordination with production teams.
  • Efficient: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Safety Regulations: Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to packaging.
