Short Description:

A Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, or storage yards. They organize and stack products, inspect equipment for proper functioning, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Forklift Operators follow safety protocols, complete logs or inventory documentation, and collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations. Attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to workplace safety are essential for this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts to transport, stack, and retrieve goods, materials, and pallets within warehouses, factories, or loading docks.
• Load and unload trucks, containers, or shelves, ensuring materials are handled and secured properly to prevent damage.
• Relocate inventory and goods to designated areas, including storage, shipping, or production areas, based on organizational needs.
• Assist in the proper handling, storage, and organization of materials to maximize space efficiency.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against orders and document any discrepancies.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on forklifts, reporting any mechanical issues to supervisors and ensuring equipment is in optimal condition.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and best practices for forklift operation to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of material movement, equipment usage, and inspection reports.
• Collaborate with production staff to ensure the timely delivery of materials to meet operational schedules.
• Assist with general housekeeping tasks, inventory management, and other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

• Previous exp
• Certification: Possession of a valid forklift operator certification or license is required.
• Experience: Prior experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Equipment: Familiarity with various forklift types, such as sit-down, stand-up, and pallet jacks, as well as their functions.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately manage inventory, identify discrepancies, and ensure materials are handled correctly.
• Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and safe forklift operation.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength, such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic Math and Documentation Skills: Proficiency in basic math and the ability to complete logs and reports accurately.
• Teamwork and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team and communicate with supervisors and colleagues.
