A CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) Welder is a certified professional skilled in various welding techniques and processes. They play a vital role in fabricating metal structures and components for different industries, ensuring the quality and integrity of welds. CWB Welders adhere to stringent welding codes and standards set by the CWB to meet industry specifications.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment such as arc welders, gas welders, and cutting torches.
  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to plan and execute welding tasks.
  • Maintain and repair welding equipment as needed.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of welding materials.
  • Conduct weld testing and inspections.
  • Keep detailed records of welding activities and project progress.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is often preferred.
  • Certification: CWB Welding certification.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a welder in various techniques.
  • Welding Procedures: Knowledge of welding codes, standards, and procedures.
